Il Gruppo 76 Firenze Reunion 2026

Reunion Schedule

A week of reconnecting, exploring, and celebrating together in Florence.

Below is the current schedule for our Florence Reunion. While some details are still being finalized, this schedule provides an overview of the activities we're planning throughout the week. As arrangements are confirmed, we'll continue to update times, pricing, registration information, and additional events.

The schedule is divided into two categories. All Gruppo Events are activities planned for everyone attending the reunion, while Small Gruppo Events are optional experiences designed for smaller groups with shared interests.

Because many of the Small Gruppo activities take place at the same time, you'll simply choose the ones that interest you most. Our goal is to offer a variety of experiences so everyone can find something they'll enjoy. Most attendees will typically select one morning activity and one afternoon activity on Thursday, allowing smaller groups to share a more personal experience while leaving plenty of time to reconnect throughout the reunion.

Whether you're returning to a favorite museum, learning a new skill, exploring the Tuscan countryside, or simply enjoying a leisurely lunch with old friends, we hope these activities help make your return to Florence as memorable as the year that first brought us together

    Optional Small Group Activity
Experience one of Tuscany's oldest artistic traditions with a hands-on pottery workshop in the charming town of Montelupo Fiorentino. Pottery-Class-instructors

Just a short train ride from Florence, Montelupo has been famous for its ceramics for more than 700 years. Our small group will visit a working family pottery studio, where master potter Matteo Mirenda will introduce us to traditional Tuscan pottery techniques before guiding each participant through creating their own piece on the wheel.

After the workshop, we'll have time to enjoy lunch in Montelupo before returning to Florence in the early afternoon.

No previous pottery experience is necessary—just a willingness to get your hands a little dirty and enjoy creating something uniquely your own.

    Uffizi Gallery Visit

     Small Gruppo Activity (Optional)

Return to one of Florence's greatest museums with classmates and rediscover the paintings and sculptures that first brought our art history classes to life. Whether you're visiting the Uffizi for the first time in decades or returning once again, sharing the experience with friends from our student days offers a fresh appreciation for some of the world's greatest masterpieces.

    Vasari-corridor

For many of us, our first visit to the Uffizi was unforgettable. We stood before paintings we had previously known only from textbooks and lectures, discovering artists whose works would stay with us for a lifetime. Nearly fifty years later, those same galleries offer an opportunity to see familiar masterpieces through older eyes and with a lifetime of new experiences.

Rather than rushing from one famous painting to the next, we'll enjoy a relaxed morning exploring the galleries together, sharing memories, conversations, and the experience of returning to one of the places that helped define our year in Florence.

After our visit, those who wish can continue the conversation over lunch at a nearby restaurant before heading off to the afternoon's Small Gruppo activities.

Estimated Cost: Museum admission (TBD), plus optional guide fee if applicable.

Group Size: Limited by ticket availability.

  5. Thursday, November 12 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm

    Amaro Tasting at Enoteca Alessi

     Optional Small Group Activity
Join a small group for a relaxed Italian aperitivo and amaro tasting experience at a traditional Florentine enoteca, featuring a curated selection of Italian amaros, light aperitivo, and shared local specialties.
    LaBaro-Amaro-Viola

We’ll gather in the wine cellar at Enoteca Alessi, known for its exceptional selection of Italian spirits.

The experience will begin with a light Italian aperitivo (vermouth or spritz), followed by a guided tasting of several different amaros—ranging from lighter, citrus-forward styles to more complex and bitter expressions. Small plates of cheese, salumi, and other Tuscan specialties will be served throughout.

This is a casual, social tasting—no prior knowledge required, just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.

    Estimated cost:
    €50–60 per person
    Group size: Approximately 6–10 people

  6. Thursday, November 12 17:30 – 18:30 Caffè Rivoire, Piazza della Signoria

    Optional Group Meet-Up

Before heading to the evening’s Farewell Dinner, drop by for coffee, gelato, or a Negroni — a casual meet-up point for everyone to swap stories about the day’s adventures.

This is detail text and more info.
  7. Thursday, November 12 Afternoon — Time TBD

Tuscan Wine Tasting at Tuscan Taste Florence

    Optional Small Group Activity

Spend a relaxed afternoon with classmates discovering the wines of Tuscany at Tuscan Taste Florence. This informal tasting emphasizes conversation, local flavors, and enjoying regional wines in a welcoming neighborhood setting.

    tuscan-taste-store

You'll sample a selection of wines from small Tuscan producers while learning about the regions, vineyards, and traditions behind each bottle. Depending on the final tasting package, local cheeses, cured meats, and light snacks may accompany the wines.

This is a casual, social tasting designed for conversation and discovery. Whether you're already a wine enthusiast or simply enjoy sharing good food and good company, you'll find a welcoming atmosphere and an enjoyable introduction to the wines and traditions of Tuscany.

    Estimated cost: €35–65 per person
    Group size: Approximately 6–12 people
